67c2bef3479f958ecf04d9f8d0ce8b15The Sequoya Middle School baseball team and its coach Brian Harvey participated in a Holbrook community clean-up over Earth Day weekend.

The team, along with numerous members from the Sachem community, rallied together at Seneca and cleaned up over 150 bags of trash helping to beautify Holbrook.

“It’s all about the community and giving back,” said Harvey.

The team volunteered for close to three hours cleaning up both sides of Patchogue-Holbrook Road and the grounds in and around Seneca on Main Street. This community initiative was organized by the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce and the office of Suffolk County Legislature Presiding Officer William Lindsay.

All of those who participated were given a letter of accommodation from the legislator’s office.

“An amazing job was done by everyone,” Harvey said.

“We relay on the efforts of volunteers like yourselves to participate in this annual event in order to keep our community clean and well-maintained during these tough economic times,” Lindsay wrote in a letter to Harvey.
