Richard Anderson, a senior at Sachem High School East, was featured on the cover of Newsday’s Explore LI (Part II) on Sunday. Enrolled in the television production program at Brookhaven Technical Center, Anderson’s film “Journey” is one of 25 films nominated as “Best in Show” in the Long Island Media Art Show.
The top 14 films from the show will air at the first Exposure Film Festival being held Sunday, May 19 at the Cinema Art Center in Huntington, N.Y.
Anderson told Newsday he wanted to make an inspirational film and focused on his sister Amanda’s new horse named Journey. He displayed how Amanda’s bond with Journey helped her heal after the death of her previous horse.
“Life can take from us, but it always gives back,” he told Newsday.
