Sachem East softball ousted the second overall seed in the Class AA playoffs Wednesday.
Commack was sent packing after the Flaming Arrows won, 4-1, on the road with the aid of some timely late inning hits during the Suffolk quarterfinals.
In the fifth inning, Cassie Asselta hit an RBI-triple and Marissa Smith recorded an RBI-single for No. 10 Sachem East (16-6).
Sachem East will travel to No. 3 Longwood for the semifinals on Friday at 4 p.m.
Smith received the win for Sachem on the mound.
