Sachem East alum Brendan Jones, a freshman goalie at Stony Brook University, was named to the Eastern States Collegiate Hockey League All-Rookie team this season.
Jones, a multi-sport athlete at Sachem, who graduated from East in 2011, was the only rookie goalie in the conference to earn this honor.
Jones helped lead Stony Brook to an ESCHL title with a 4-2 victory over Rhode Island in late February.
Appearing in 19 games and sporting an 8-8-2 record in net by season’s end, Jones is primed to ignite the Seawolves for another three seasons.
