Sachem East senior Dan Hetzel was named the Blue Chips Prospects Silver Slugger Award winner as the best offensive baseball player at this year’s Suffolk County Baseball Coaches Association dinner.
Hetzel, who is headed to play college baseball at the University of Rhode Island, is also an All-Long Island, All-County and All-League selection this season.
This season Hetzel was fifth on Long Island with five home runs
