Alum: “Sachem helped shape the person I am”

Like so many of Sachem’s graduates, Dayna Ghiraldi said the school district helped shape her into the person she is today.

Electing to take part in an array of co-curricular activities, Ghiraldi was busy in high school. That same do-it-all mentality has helped in her career as a public relations professional and business owner.

Her resume included cheerleading, yearbook, DECA, among other activities.

“It all helped shape me to be a much more well rounded individual,” she said. “I wouldn’t change my experience for the world. We had so much at our fingertips.”

Today Ghiraldi owns Big Picture Media, an innovative full-service public relations firm based in New York City. They primarily handle music accounts, but offer services for other areas of entertainment as well. They also do PR for clothing companies, coordinate red carpet events and have gone outside music to grow their portfolio.

“Slowly we’ve grown the roster of what we do,” she said.

Ghiraldi went to LIU Post and worked for KSA Publicity, where she built a foundation in public relations campaigns in the music industry. She has also worked a number of high profile events, including the MTV Music Awards, New York Fashion Week and has been involved with dozens of premier music and film festivals like Sundance, SXSW, Warped Tour and more.
