Sachem East senior Dan Hetzel participated in the RTC Grand Slam Challenge on Monday Night and helped Suffolk to a victory over Nassau, 3-1.
Hetzel was walked and hit by a pitch in the game.
This all-star game culminated a senior season for Hetzel that saw him selected All-Long Island, win the Blue Chip Prospects Silver Slugger Award, lead his Sachem East club to the post-season and solidify a commitment to play baseball at the University of Rhode Island.
