Sachem North and East alumni make up one-half of the current St. Joseph’s women’s XC roster.   St. Joseph’s roster includes seniors Caitlyn Ryan (East) and Bridget McNamara (North), juniors Mary Cipriano (North) and Lauren Waka, sophomore Samantha Maurice (East) and freshmen Siobhan O’Gorman (North) and Kristina Schrepf (North).

St. Joseph’s is a perennial Skyline Conference Champion – the women’s team has won the last four conference championships and the men’s team has won the past three.  St. Joe’s, a D III team, holds its own against D I and D II competition.  Sachem alumni have played a big part in the string of success enjoyed by the Golden Eagles in recent years.

Current team members Caitlyn Ryan, Mary Cipriano and Lauren Waka were named to the Skyline All-Conference teams in 2012.  Caitlyn Ryan will resume front-running duties for St. Joseph’s in its 2013 campaign with the trio of Waka, Cipriano and Maurice expected to score as well.

Team rookie Kristina Schrepf finished seventh for her team in their season-opener at the Stony Brook Invitational and adds depth to her team.  St. Joseph’s showed early-season strength in their second meet of the season as the team placed fourth in combined D II-III scoring at the St. John’s University XC Festival with 70 team points.  They finished only three points behind second place (and D II) LIU Post.

The combined North-East alumni squad brings their college team a wealth of experience and success from Sachem XC and track and field teams.

Mary Cipriano commented that her experiences and training on North teams prepared her for the rigors of a successful college program at today’s St. John’s University XC Festival.  Her Sachem/St. Joe’s teammates concurred.

North and East alumni – used to training together – renewed friendships with each other and established new friendships with all their teammates as they work together to continue a tradition of success as St. Joseph’s Golden Eagles.
