Sachem East now 0-2 with loss at Commack

Sachem East lost to Commack, 20-7, on the road Wednesday afternoon, dropping its season record to 0-2.

Junior running back Tim Condon scored East’s only touchdown of the game on a 6-yard rush in the first quarter. The play was made possible after Commack fumbled on a punt return and Drew Alfano recovered the ball deep in Cougar territory.

Rob Paccione scored two touchdowns for Commack (2-0) in the game; one a 15-yard rush in the first quarter and another when he converted on a 28-yard pass to Matt Recek in the third quarter to give the Cougars a two-score lead.

Sachem East compiled 54 yards of total offense in the loss.

Josh Valentin, who has received some early pre-season press from local media outlets, led Commack with 15 tackles.

Sachem East plays its Week 3 action at home against Northport (2-0) on Friday night at 7 p.m.
