Trading cards of Sachem alums are far and few between, but there are plenty of Jumbo Elliott, Jeff Ruland and Neal Heaton, and even more modern athletes like Mike Parisi and Keith Kinkaid. Lacrosse cards, however, are pretty rare.
In 2010 and 2011, Upper Deck issued lax cards for Major League Lacrosse. Sachem alum Doug Shanahan’s No. 42 card is featured in the 2010 set. On the card is an action photo from his days with the Chicago Machine.
Shanahan, who coaches and teaches lacrosse in Florida, is still active in the MLL with the Long Island Lizards.
