Sachem East is in need of a win in this young 2013 season. It’s Week 3 and East is coming off loses against Sachem North and Commack. They’ll host Northport Friday evening.
With the loss of Kenny Whigham due to a broken foot, Sachem East has been running a committee out of the backfield. It’ll need someone to step up and take charge as their ground game has been down through the first two weeks.
Northport (1-1) barely beat Longwood in Week 1, then played a closer game in Week 2 against Floyd. During the Longwood victory, the Tigers had five different receivers catch passes, so they’ll spread the ball out when possible.
Sachem East (0-2) is hungry for a win and playing at home on Friday under the lights, so they’ll have the advantage. Northport, even though coming off a loss, still must have some confidence coming into the game having played it close with Floyd.
