When it was all said and done, Bryan Morris sat in the middle of the Stony Brook logo on the 50-yard line at LaValle Stadium Saturday night. He looked stunned, shocked, in disbelief almost. His four years as Sachem’s top kicker ended and he and his teammates were Long Island champions.

He ran through a swarm of teammates with his hands clenched to his full head of playoff hair smiling. Enduring three straight years of playoff loses to Floyd, including county title games as a freshman and sophomore, Morris is as much of a football veteran as you’ll find on Long Island, or New York State even. He’s been there, tested, tried. He’s experienced the ups and downs of every game Sachem has played for four straight years.

And now that his high school career is over you should appreciate what Morris provided. Stability. Confidence. Leadership. Passion. He had it all, and he’ll bring that to the next level wherever he decides to kick in college.

For what he did, the points he scored, the records he set, Bryan Morris is one of the best high school kickers in the history of Long Island high school football.

Here’s what Bryan Morris has accomplished:

  • Career extra points: 169 … Long Island record, and second all-time in NYS
  • Total kicking points: 187 … Long Island record, and fourth all-time in NYS
  • Career high extra points streak: 39
  • Career high for single-game extra points: 8 vs. Brentwood in 2011
  • 2013 extra points mark: Completed 49 of 50
  • Has made 67 of his last 68 extra points dating back to mid-2012
  • Career field goals, 6-for-11
  • Career high for field goal distance: 37 yards, twice (including 1 in Long Island Championship)
  • Played in Sachem record 42 consecutive games
  • Played in Sachem record 42 total games
  • Scored at least 1 point in all 42 games played
