Sachem North’s season came to an end on Tuesday in a Class AA girls basketball outbracket playoff game.
No. 17 Longwood came to Lake Ronkonkoma and beat No. 16 Sachem, 62-56, with the help of a big performance by Tah’Joenae Hinton, who recorded 16 points and 26 rebounds.
Sachem’s Shay Cosgrove led all scorers with 24 points. Eve Calabria had 14 points.
The Flaming Arrows trailed Longwood, 33-19, at halftime, but came out in the third quarter and outscored the Lions, 19-9.
Longwood advances to the big bracket and will face top-seeded North Babylon on the road Thursday afternoon.
Sachem finished the season 7-7 in League II and 10-9 overall.
