Sachem North, after finishing the regular season with a 17-3 record, has received the top seed in the Suffolk County Class AA baseball playoffs.
Sachem, who has a first round bye and home field advantage in the post-season, will play the winner of the No. 9 Commack vs. No. 8 West Islip game. That game will take place at Sachem North on Wednesday, May 14 starting at 4 p.m.
Sachem North, who won a League II championship this season, last won a Suffolk County title in 2011.
The Flaming Arrows have lost only one game in the last month and are riding the hot hands of its starting pitching staff, timely hitting and veteran leadership.
