Sachem hosts Wounded Warrior Project

Screen shot 2014-06-05 at 10.01.23 AMSachem North High School and Sagamore Middle School introduced an inaugural competitive event this week to support the Wounded Warrior Project.

This fundraising mind and body challenge provides financial support to the Wounded Warrior Project. The Warrior Dash course had 20 physical and mental challenges on the Sachem North High School grounds. The participants were members of the Youth Atlas Program, a program that supports the mission of Sachem Schools to create a social consciousness and motivation lead and to become productive, knowledgeable, and responsible members of society. Sachem schools have a long history of supporting local and national organizations.

The mission of Wounded Warrior Project is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors. WWP’s purpose is to raise awareness and to enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members, to help injured servicemen and women aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.
