Lynwood Elementary students have been collecting spare change from family and friends to support the Stony Brook Long Island Children’s Hospital in the “Change for Children” initiative.
The money will be used to grow hospital programs to better meet the health care needs of our community’s children. Lynwood students worked hard to collect $1,655.00 to donate this year alone.
Since 2012, when Lynwood began participating in this fundraiser, they have collectively raised $6,182 to donate. All of this money has been matched by an anonymous Children’s Hospital donor, amounting to a total of $12, 364.
Lynwood Avenue Elementary School is proud of its student leaders, who are using habits like “Begin with the End in Mind” and “Think Win-Win”, to truly make a difference in our community.
