To think, Maria Michta is only entering her prime now.
While being crowned champion at Rockland Lake State Park for the USATF 30 km Race Walk Championships, she set a new Americna record in the 25 km.
She finished the race in 2:34:42, and her 25 km record time was 2:07:46.
Michta, who graduated from Sachem in 2004 and is the district’s only athlete to ever compete in the Olympics, already owns the 20 km American record.
