Waverly Avenue Elementary has raised more than $19,000 for St. Baldrick’s this year.
They held an event at the school on Monday and a number of notable shavees, including Sachem Superintendent James Nolan.
Matthew Abbatiello and his dad, two very special shavees, also participated. Matthew battled against leukemia a few years ago and received a bone marrow transplant from his sister.
