Here’s an update on all of the playoff action that began on Saturday for Sachem:
Sachem North Boys Soccer: Sachem beat Smithtown East, 3-1, in Suffolk County Class AA first round playoff action. Brian Wittemann scored in the 74th minute and added two assists to guide Sachem (9-6-2) to victory. The No. 17 seeded Flaming Arrows will play top-seeded Brentwood on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
Sachem East Girls Soccer: No. 17 Sachem grabbed a 2-1 victory over No. 16 West Babylon in the first round of the Suffolk playoffs. Brooke Papele scored the game winning goal for Sachem with eight minutes left. Brittany Debole scored the first goal for Sachem (7-7-2). Sachem will now play No. 1 Commack on Monday at 2 p.m.
Sachem North Girls Soccer: No. 15 Sachem beat No. 18 Bay Shore, 3-1. Sarah Dibble, Caitlyn Humann, and Kelly Abramsto all scored goals in the out-bracket Suffolk County Class AA playoff game. Sachem will play at No. 2 Northport at 2 p.m. on Monday.
Sachem East Field Hockey: Sachem East beat Connetquot, 3-1, in the first round of the playoffs. The Arrows received goals from Shelby Trentini, Kamryn Kazenecki, and Kayla Henry-Caltabelotta. No. 5 Sachem East (11-4) will play No. 4 Smithtown East on Tuesday.
Sachem North Field Hockey: No.7 Sachem recorded a 3-0 shutout victory over Whitman and advances to the second round of the playoffs. The Flaming Arrows will play No. 2 Newfield. Gabby Lorenzo scored twice on penalty strokes.
