Now in her sophomore year, Sachem alum is one of the top defenders in the country
Sachem East alum Cara Trombetta is ready to carry the defense for Florida lacrosse again this season. She was named a preseason All-Big East selection.
Ready for her sophomore season, Trombetta finished her freshman campaign as an Honorable Mention All-America, and Big East All-Academic Team selection. She started all 20 games last season and set a Florida single-season record with 27 caused turnovers.
Florida is ranked No. 5 in the nation to open the season and will begin play on Sunday, Feb. 11 against No. 17 Colorado.
The Gators have won three straight Big East titles and don’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.
