Sachem Alum Makes HS Hoops History in NJ

It’s New Jersey, but’s a Sachem alum … so it’s news for us!

A Sachem alum has led the Wayne Valley girls basketball team to a Passaic County championship for the first time in 40 years.

Kathy Sinram led her Indians squad to a 35-27 victory over Lakeland in the New Jersey playoff game.

Sinram is also a volunteer assistant soccer coach at William Patterson University.

She played college soccer for the Pioneers and was a member of the school’s first NCAA tournament team in 1997 and she played basketball, helping the Pioneers reach the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament twice

She was inducted into the William Paterson University Alumni Association Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002.
