Alum Missry, UCLA Headed to NCAA Championship

Latest grand moment for star volleyball player is biggest of his career

This is why Dylan Missry went to UCLA, to play on the biggest stage and win a national championship.

This weekend the Sachem North alum will get an opportunity to add to his illustrious volleyball resume when his Bruins compete in the NCAA Division I men’s volleyball championship.

The Bruins will take on top-ranked Long Beach State at 4 p.m. PST at Pauley Pavillion, a home match for UCLA. They upset No. 2 BYU in the semifinals.

Missry was Long Island Player of the Year when he guided Sachem to its first New York State volleyball championship in 2014. He was All-American, All-State, All-Long Island, All-County and All-League and has left a lasting impact on the Flaming Arrows program, which continues to dominate today.
