Latest chapter of Alvino’s coaching career is in Florida with top program
The journey continues. Sachem alum Billy Alvino, who had an integral part in Sachem East’s inaugural and historic run in 2005 and played professionally in the Tigers’ organization, has joined the baseball coaching staff at power Nova Southern.
Alvino spent the last three seasons as an assistant at Pitt where he built the program’s top recruiting class in 2018. Prior to that, he was an assistant at Manhattanville College.
“I am extremely excited to become part of the NSU family,” said Alvino in a statement. “Coach Brown is a well-respected leader and baseball coach. I look forward to working with him, as well as Coach Ramsey and Coach Santiago, to accomplish continued success at an already dominate baseball program.”
