Sachem Alum Helps Unveil New Engineering Building at UIC

Latest honor and student experience puts alum center stage at building unveiling

Sachem alum Dan Christiansen was on hand as the student representative for the opening of the new engineering building at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Christiansen, a PhD student at UIC, completed his undergrad in chemical engineering at Tulane last year.

He was joined by university and political officials, including Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, during the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new building and also spoke to the crowd, who gathered to see the new 57,000 square foot, $43 million innovation building.
