By the Numbers: Historic Season for Sachem East Football

Arrows finish 2019 short of ultimate goal, but should be proud of major program milestones

The 2019 campaign for Sachem East football will be one to remember. Both sides of the ball saw significant milestones. While the Arrows fell short in the Suffolk County Division I semifinals there are plenty of numbers that will live on in their program record book.

Adriel Robinson finished his career fourth all-time in total yards with 1,821 from 2017-2019. He also finishes third in career rushing attempts with 246, career rushing yards with 1,798, career yards per carry with 7.31 and 14 career rushing touchdowns.

Ryan Paolella had an outstanding two-way career. He finishes fifth all-time in rushing with 1,093 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Paollela and Ryan Micheli have been major defensive standouts for years. They finish their careers ranked second and third, respectively, in total tackles with 276 and 224. Connor Farrell has 301 just in case you’re wondering.

Paollella also finished second in single season tackles with 105. Farrell holds that record at 109.

Micheli now holds the single-game tackles record with 22, which he achieved against Pat-Med, the same game Paolella and Dom Detto each had 19.

Jason Bruno recorded a program record 11.5 sacks in 2019 and had 15.5 for his career, good enough for second all-time. His four against William Floyd are also a single-game record.

Quarterback Nick Stelling finishes ranked third in career passing touchdowns with eight.

Don’t forget Tyler Bard’s 40-yard field goal against Brentwood, the longest ever kicked by a Sachem East player.
