Defending Suffolk County champion looks to defend title, others from Sachem also win league crowns
Jared Weinhaus is ready for more. He captured another League I championship and is primed to defend as Suffolk County champion next week.
Sachem East’s Weinhaus beat Pat-Med’s Frank Marsilia via pin in 3:12 in the 120-pound League I final and was named Most Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament.
Sachem East’s Luis Valdez also won a league title at 195 pounds beating Alex Bruno from Pat-Med via pin in 5:59.
Sachem North’s Michael Barker beat Bay Shore’s Alex Cera, 3-0, in the 145 League II final.
The Suffolk County finals will take place on Feb. 15-16 at Suffolk County Community College, Brentwood.
