Conor O’Hara Named Company Grade Officer of the Year

Air Force Academy alum and 1st Lieutenant earns latest honor

At the annual awards ceremony at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi, Sachem alum and 1st Lieutenant Conor O’Hara has been named Company Grade Officer of the Year.

O’Hara attended Sachem East before graduating from the United States Air Force Academy. He is one of the winningest wrestlers in Sachem history and also wrestled for the Falcons.

In a post on the base’s Facebook page, Lieutenant O’Hara said, “I am incredibly humbled to have been nominated for this award. While I appreciate this recognition, I feel that it is just the tip of the iceberg for all of the great things that go on here at 81 CONS. From our commander, to our Airmen, and our many civilians in between, I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to learn and grow here at Keesler. I am proud to have the chance to represent the hard work that goes on here, and I know that my accomplishments would have been insurmountable without the inspiration, motivation and guidance that I receive on a daily basis.”
