Born leader. Not a bad way to be described.
Sachem North alum Bryan Keegan was named a captain this year on the SUNY Maritime lacrosse team. Last week he was honored with the program’s No. 99 tradition, given to a senior player who best represents John Swaine, a Class of ’86 Maritime student-athlete who died during the 9/11 attacks.
“Keegan is a born leader,” said Danny Connell, the player who earned the honor last year. “Even as a year older than him, he’s someone I looked up to at Maritime. On and off the field he is a brother. There is no one else more deserving than him to put No. 99 on his chest. He’s someone that gives it his all in every aspect of his life.”
Keegan, a two-sport athlete at Sachem, is set to commission into the U.S Marine Corps on May 7, 2021.
