Cam Lee Leads Sachem North to Rivalry Victory, Chief Trophy Returns to Lake Ronkonkoma

Cam Lee scored all four Sachem North touchdowns to beat cross-town rival Sachem East in a 28-13 win on Saturday.

Lee was his usual versatile self with more than 240 offensive yards: 2 receptions, 58 receiving yards, 1 touchdown and 17 carries, 186 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns.

“This is something you dream about,” said Lee, “winning in high school with all my teammates, playing for Sachem and it’s just great that it all came together.”

Sachem North went up 21-0 on Lee touchdowns of 31 rushing yards, 47 receiving yards and 61 rushing yards, respectively, before Sachem East had scores in the third and fourth quarters on rushing touchdowns. Lee later scored on a 10-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

Vin Giordano led Sachem North with 14 tackles on defense.

“It’s a big rivalry game and means the world to bring the chief home,” said Giordano. “It may not be a championship game, but it was for us. I wanted to leave a mark, left it all out there and played as hard as I could.”

Mike Fasano and Nick Giorgi each had 7 tackles. Tyler Hall had 13 carries for 66 rushing yards.

THE CHIEF IS BACK

Sachem North leads Sachem East, 6-3, in the all-time series. This is the first time the schools have played since 2016. Sachem North has outscored Sachem East 256-138. The teams exchange a wooden Chief Sachem trophy, kept at the home of the winning school. He’s back in Lake Ronkonkoma.
