It’s tough to get your mind around at first. Sachem wearing blue. But when you realize it was meant to honor Matt DiStefano and the Dezy Strong Foundation it all makes sense.
Sachem North boys lacrosse hosted a “Dezy Strong” game for awareness to the foundation. The teal uniform tops featured black and gold stripes, a Sachem arrow, #WeGetTo hashtag on the sleeve and the Dezy Strong logo on the tail.
DiStefano was a Sachem alum, teacher and coach who left a lasting impact with his foundation when he passed away in 2020. Events like this keep his name and mission alive.
Sachem beat South Fork 15-8.
