The dream continues. If making his first team debut and earning player of the month honors to open his Bundesliga career weren’t enough, Lake Grove native and Sachem alum Joe Scally just got the call for the U.S. Men’s National Team.
The young Borussia Monchengladbach star was selected to the U.S. senior team roster ahead of World Cup qualifying matches. They play against Mexico on November 12 at 9:10 p.m. on ESPN2 and against Jamaica on November 16 at 5 p.m. on Paramount+.
“This was always a goal and a dream of mine,” Scally told Bundesliga.com. “For it to happen so early in my career, there’s nothing more I could have asked for.”
Scally started his career with NYCFC of the MLS and was transferred to Germany’s top league when he was 18. He has been one of the biggest U.S. names to hit Europe this year and his stock rises every match.
He has started all 13 contests for Gladbach so far this season.
