Ken Friedheim is the winningest gymnastics coach in New York State history. For decades he built a boys gymnastics power at Sachem that won 10 Suffolk County and 14 New York State titles, but in the early 2000s his sport ceased to exist at the high school level any longer. This lost dynasty is still a major part of Sachem’s athletic history from the 1960s through 2005.
He is the latest guest on Sachem Conversations is an oral history project produced by the Sachem Alumni Association to digitally record and archive Sachem history from the people who made it and lived it.
