Joyce Brown was one of the district’s first female Sachem alumni hired as a teacher and coach. She has had a love affair with Sachem since she was a kid, and, as she puts it, the community is part of her soul. From her dad serving on the board of education to being taught by some of the Sachem’s finest in the 1970s to calling those same people colleagues over the 30 years she served the community, Sachem is in her DNA.
She is the latest guest on Sachem Conversations, an oral history project produced by the Sachem Alumni Association to digitally record and archive Sachem history from the people who made it and lived it.
