A Sachem alum and former hockey player will be remembered thanks to the effort of his friends and family.
Jeff Bausch died in November 2022 from sudden cardiac arrest. He was 39 and left behind his wife Christine and two young children, and now leaves a legacy in the Sachem hockey program.
Friend and fellow alumnus Vinny Accardi worked with Sachem Schools, the Sachem Alumni Association and Sachem Hockey to create the Jeff Bausch Unsung Hero Award and Scholarship on the same night they retired his No. 96.
