Earlier this spring, the lacrosse teams at Sachem East and Sachem North played in the annual Ralph Pepe Lacrosse Showcase.
Sachem North beat Sachem East, 11-7, in varsity action and 10-4 on the JV level.
Game MVPs were Logan Postel from Sachem East and AJ Torres from Sachem North.
Pepe, a Sachem alum, teacher and coach, played football and lacrosse as a student-athlete in the early 1970s. He died in 2018 and inducted into of the Sachem Athletic Hall of Fame shortly after.
Pepe spent many years as the head men’s lacrosse coach at the now defunct Southampton College and was also the head boy’s lacrosse coach at Westhampton Beach High School.
