The historic Cape Cod League and rising Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League are home to incredibly talented student-athletes looking to stay conditioned and gain extended visibility from scouts.
Sachem alumni Rafe Schlesinger, Ty Acker and Matt Guido are playing this year.
Schlesinger, a pitcher at the University of Miami, is on Cotuit in the Cape. He has a 3.85 ERA, 1 win, 2 saves and 20 strikeouts in 9 appearances.
Acker, an infielder at George Washington University, is hitting .342 in 19 games for the Northfork Ospreys of the Hamptons League. He was also named a league all-star.
Guido, a pitcher at Lycoming College, is a teammate with Acker on the Northfork, and is 1-1 with a 4.82 ERA in four starts.
