Sachem alum Ryan Micheli was honored with a scholarship from the Italian American Baseball Foundation and presented with the honor at the annual IABF gala in New York City.
Micheli is a senior at Division I Stony Brook University. He hit .261 during his junior season, starting 30 of his 37 appearances behind the plate.
He was a three-year varsity letter winner at Sachem East and was also a talented two-year varsity football player.
IABF trustee and Sachem Alumni Association President/Founder Chris Vaccaro presented Micheli with an IABF jersey in honor of the scholarship recognition.
Sachem alum and former Sachem East varsity assistant coach Bryan Vaccaro serves on the IABF Scholarship Committee.
