Train with Olympians at Sachem Wrestling Camp

Screen shot 2013-05-11 at 2.51.20 PMThe renowned Sachem Wrestling Camp will take place in three sessions over two weeks this summer in June and July and feature a number of noteworthy instructors from the wrestling community.

Sammie Henson, who won a Silver Medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and a Gold Medal at the World Championships in Tehran in 1998, as well as Nate Carr, a three-time NCAA champion and bronze medalist at the 1988 Olympic games in Seoul, South Korea, will both be on-hand to instruct again this year.

The camp sessions are as follows:

  • 5 day camp: June 24-June 28
  • 8 day camp: June 24-July 3
  • 3 day camp: July 1-July 3

Sachem Wrestling Camp offers young wrestlers the unique opportunity to meet and be coached by Olympians, NCAA champions, members of Team USA, All-Americans, college coaches and respected high school coaches. Campers leave the Sachem Camp inspired to achieve greatness and have gone on to become All-League, All-County. as well as high school and college All-Americans.

Wrestlers from the Sachem community can register early and receive a discount as noted on the flyer.

Aside from Henson and Carr, campers will have the opportunity to learn from:

  • Andy Seras: 1994 World Cup Gold Medalist, 2006 USA Olympic Greco Roman Coach
  • Nick Gallo: 1977 NCAA Champion, 1976 and 1980 USA Olympic Freestyle team
  • Isaac Ramaswamy: Sachem alum and coach, Pan American Games Silver Medalist, 1994 and 1995 USA Greco National Champion
  • Sean O’Hara: Sachem alum and coach, 2006 League I Coach of the Year, former Division I wrestling at UPenn
  • Ray Pickersgill: Sachem alum and coach, 2009 League II Coach of the Year
  • John Aebly: Sachem alum and coach, there-time Division III All-American
