Seven Sachem laxers sign letters of intent

Sachem North senior lacrosse players ink their college papers.

The Sachem High School North boys lacrosse program held its annual signing day ceremony at the high school on Monday morning.

Seven seniors inked their college letters of intent and eye a bright future representing Sachem at their respective institutions.

The complete list of Sachem North lax signees:

“This group of seven seniors continue the legacy that has come before them and hopefully inspire the future lacrosse players to work hard athletically and more importantly academically,” said Sachem coach Jay Mauro. “We are proud of them and know they will do an excellent job. We had a great fall and we are excited about this spring and beyond. The program is in a great place and will continue to improve because of our values and work ethic.”

Including this year, Sachem North has had 60 players commit to play college lacrosse since 2005 when Mauro took over as head coach from Rick Mercurio. It’s the most of any varsity program in the school district. Last year there were 12 commits, the highest under Mauro.
